Telling stories of Ilojo Bar

An Invitation

Legacy is working on a follow up of the Ilojo Bar project, to remember the national monument on Lagos Island that was illegally demolsihed in 2016. First step is the development of an online monument, telling many of the forgotten stories connected to the site on Tinubu Square. Legacy is now inviting creatives, from students of art to artists, from Nigeria to Brazil and Europe, to participate in the storytelling.

The invitation goes out in the form of the magazine Telling New Stories of Ilojo Bar: An Invitation

You are invited to send it around your network to creatives you think might be inspired to partake in the storytelling in the form of images, video, or music. Suitable contributions will be integrated in the virtual monument to Ilojo Bar. Legacy hopes to eventually organise a physical exhibition on the stories of Ilojo Bar.In order to participate:

• Send in your digitised contribution to research@legacy1995.ng

• Include the number of the story that inspired you

• Clearly state your name, email address and phone number

• Send in your contributions before April 20, 2022
