Honouring Demas Nwoko’s Heritage
One of Nigeria’s greatest artists, architect Demas Nwoko, was recently honoured with the Golden Lion Lifetime Achievement Award at the Venice Architecture Biennale. As a Nigerian heritage organisation, Legacy is asking the important question: how to protect, preserve and promote Demas Nwoko’s Legacy in Nigeria? On November 16 Legacy is organising a webinar to discuss his heritage.
‘Everything all at once’, Venice Architecture Biennale’s curator Lesley Lokko called Demas Nwoko at the Golden Lion Lifetime Achievement Award: ‘an architect, sculptor, designer, writer, set designer, critic, and historian.’ This great Nigerian artist’s work is admired and taught the world over. Join the Legacy webinar focusing on his work and the need to save it for posterity.
